Has anyone struggled with dissociation ? I’ve had this issue but it’s gotten worse when I’m in stressful situations where I will literally not remember what happened and afterwards I am embarrassed of my actions. It’s never anything dangerous but just super chaotic. How do you deal with this ?

Unfortunately I don’t have advice on managing, but if it makes you feel better you’re definitely not the only one. I used to think I had an amazing memory and then I got a lot of troubling years and I can’t remember many things from my childhood/teenage years. You could try journaling more. Maybe if you write a summary of the day each night you’ll retain more!
Hi Kfab2015
I struggle with disassociation, I thought it was my ADD until my therapist told me I was doing this during a session.
One Technique that helps is grounding
I’m lying on my bed and say whatever I see, hear, feel etc
The ceiling is white
I feel a slight breeze
I hear traffic
My stomach made a noice
My left thigh has some pain
I feel warm
Basically doing this helps keep you present instead of spacing out
be forgiving of yourself! just try and understand why you reacted that way in regards to the situation. id also consider lookind into Dissociative Identity Disorder if you feel more severe amnesia/time loss/complete disconnect from your previous actions
