Leaving House Fear
Hi you must go no matter how hard it is please try and find the courage to go because this could be the starting point of recovery for you, and if things dont go well at least your doctor is going to see the reality of how bad things are for you i wish you lots of luck let me know how you get on, if you find the courage to go you will inspire others to with your story and your journey as it progresses 😊
I hadn't left the house to go anywhere but the doctor since March- even though the outdoors is usually the best way I can reset from mental health issues and I've been cooped up in a 1 bd apartment without even a patio- such is my fear of Covid. I just went to the park with my husband and son yesterday for the first time in 5 months. It was great! The experience chipped away at the fear I had built up in my mind. I told my husband that controlled exposure seems like a great way to deal with my OCD.
I heard that panic attacks can happen as a result of the fear of having them. What would be the worst thing that would happen if you had a panic attack? Is there anything you could do in advance to mitigate that risk?
What kind of appointment is it? Can you tell the person you are meeting with and ask them for advice? Maybe they could help you with transportation, etc. to assist you in getting out so you can make the appt.
Are there certain things that you know trigger you? Because if you can figure out what does, you're better able to prepare for how to deal with it. Slow, deep breathing helps.
