I'm new here and looking for some support with dealing with depression and BPD. I was diagnosed about a year ago and am struggling to find healthy coping skills to bring me out of my depression episodes. I have not family or friends for support and am struggling on my own. I feel as if I'm barely holding my head above water and don't know what to do anymore. I've unfortunately made some bad decisions in the past few years and am reaping the consequences for my actions. Most days I just want to cry but having a full time job and two kids to take care of that isn't an option. I feel so alone.

New here - Don't know how to cope with depression and BPD
I’m right there with you to be honest 🥺 you’re not alone! You’ve come to the right place. Everyone on here is amazing! I also don’t have very many friends or family that I feel comfortable confiding in.. bipolar is a new thing for me as well and it is hard learning new coping skills...especially with a newer diagnosis. I don’t have much advice to give because I’m going through the same thing and at a loss as well but just wanted you to know you’re not alone.
Hi Starrydragon
You have come to the right place. You will get all the support you need.
It's indeed tough when people are alone, I understand that. The comfort of laying your head upon someone's shoulder is irreplaceable. Hopefully, you will get this companionship from the community.
Feel free to open up and talk about your feelings...
I am sorry for what you are going through. depression and anxiety are formidable foes especially when you are fighting them alone. If you get to the point of crisis please call 911 or National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255. There is also a Crisis Text Line at 741741. Have you been seeing someone to talk to this about yet? If not here is a number for a great place that can offer some free counseling advise, and refer you to a professional in your area 1-855-382-5433. As for coping skills, I once read a book called Anxious For Nothing, by Max Lucado. In the book he tells a story about a friend who is a primary caretaker of his sick wife. This gentleman always had a smile and a joke to tell. Max asked him why he was so happy, when the situation with his wife was so dire? T he friend told him that everyday they would listen to a song or hymn. When he asked his wife what she would like, she always picked a song CountYour Blessings. He said they listened to it then they did. When you count your blessings, and see how much you actually have, depression and anxiety beat a hasty retreat. So sit down with a sheet of paper and write down all you have been blessed with. Food on the table and a roof over your head etc. Here is a link to some references on depression and anxiety. I hope they help, Prayers my friend. bit.ly/2yc8nk5
