Surgery and ER visit

Since my last post I had the surgery I was so nervous to have and have ended up in the ER.

Good news is surgery went very well, the issues were addressed and the medical staff were amazing!! Unlike the last time (at a different hospital) I did not wake up mid procedure and no one said anything but kind and supportive things to me!

Bad news is I’m in excruciating pain (which I was warned about) and I ended up in the ER due to the unmanaged pain.

This, however, is a summary of what my ER visit was like! Does NOT get more distracting and entertaining than this! 😂 Enjoy! ...

ER visit; Holy shit is the ER in an inner city an interesting place at 3am!! I was given very strong pain meds so I was more physically comfortable than earlier and then I was just highly entertained; lady who stabbed herself (not suicidal, just pissed and wanted some attention from her boyfriend), half naked dude seriously drunk and high but came in cuz he’s vomiting (shocker!), some guy brought in from jail screaming but then laughing, some girl who cut her arm open and although can’t say how was positive it wasn’t because of a new tattoo, some Spanish speaking man just repeatedly screaming, “Fuckers!!”. Then there was the elderly naked man who simply refused to stay in his room, on his bed and remain clothed! The Dr. told me to get some rest while they ran some post surgery tests on me. Are you kidding?!? I couldn’t sleep, I was too drawn in to the show unfolding before my eyes and ears!! 😉😊😷🇺🇸

Prognosis; 3 more weeks of recovery and while the ER was entertaining, I really hope I can stay home and keep the main managed!

It’s good to hear the surgery went well, moreover your surgery experience this time was much better.

I’ve been in the ER early mornings when crazy stuff like this went on too especially after midnight... the night time brings in all kinds of people and injuries and even drug addicts looking for docs to give them fixes they couldn’t find on the street. 👀😁😂

Stay home, put your feet up, eat and drink to help your recovery and hope you’ve been given adequate pain management.

Sorry to hear about the post op pain but you were in the right place to get it sorted. Great post. I was imagining I was watching an episode of a TV sitcom. My only experience of an ER was much the same. You gotta be there to believe it 😄
