Citalopram - time taken

Hello,

I started taking citalopram for anxiety 6 weeks ago. Started on 10mg for 2 weeks and 20mg the last 4 weeks. I take it in the morning as I don’t sleep well generally.

However, I was struggling to function at work due to chronic fatigue the first few weeks, I had to lie down on the floor at work one day for 20 minutes as the exhaustion was just too much!

I switched to taking it in the evenings 2 weeks ago but now it’s taking me upto 2 hours to get to sleep. Has anyone been through anything similiar and has any advice? Unsure whether to stick with the evenings or try mornings again.

Thanks!

hi i was on these years ago i was ok mainly at work but i found myself getting light headed and sweaty when i was carrying out light physical duties even walking at pace.if it says morning i would stick with it for say 2 more weeks and if nothing settles down maybe have a chat with your gp.you managed longer than i did or about the same time so give it 2 weeks as your at that point they should settle in your system.
