I worked hard with many many jobs to get through school, two mash like internships in vet med, residency in anesthesia, coached for forty years, ran a dept at colege for ten years, decent artist contractor etc...……..I go home and my family tells me about vet med...…...or anything...…….. no that's not the way it is ………..this is the way it is...….when none of them have any clinical experise or know how cases can go. When I divorced my abusive ex...…….my so called family once again...……..always take the other side...…….

gets old...…..in the horse world...……...students love abusive coaches......….kind ones they hate...…….too nice too caring...…...but our families think we are too nice and probably gay because we care or are mean because we wont let them walk all over us...…….u lose either way...…...

I was very very bitter about losing my dept which I poured myself into all do to politics...……...

now thankful to be out of academia...……..the red tape and students who really just want a piece of paper...……..admin who know nothing abut your area but listen to people with questionable backgrounds...……...

thankful for this site...……...away from academia, coaching, and people who don't listen to experience...……..horses can be nice...………..but also very unsafe if you will...…….but they don't listen to us old timers...…...

thankful for the woods and nature and accepting people here...…….

sorry to vent and complain...………….people always listen to the people who are just good con artists...……….

thankful to go to the next step or level

thankful for art and frends and good listeners

thankful to be away from people who assume we are mental morons because we work with animals...………………..mammalian physicology is very similar and we take all the ologies too...……..you work with animals...……….not command them as some seem to believe ……………….

I love your posts and this one is refreshing and enlightening. I too am an animal lover, we have 3 dogs, 3 horses and a molly mule who is older than dirt and 2 barn cats who are really front door cats. They think they are dogs too I believe. I believe those with strong love and connection to the animal world see the world from a different perspective, not understood by most others.

I too appreciate this group. Sometimes I have to back away as I get overwhelmed by peoples problems, other times Im on top of it and can be supportive... more like mothering, lol.
