AZOLA, can we change things that happened in the past? Probably not.
Why allow these negative thoughts to disrupt a most important part of
your life....which is Sleep. Sleep is important in replenishing your mind and
body. Giving them the energy they need. When you continually not sleep,
it drains you and you cannot be productive.
Right now you are in a cycle of fear begets fear. Somehow you need to break
that circle so that you can regenerate. One way is medication that your doctor
could prescribe to lower your anxiety and put you into a more restful position.
Another way is to approach talk therapy. Talking with a professional about the
past and how to let go, can have immense success for you. There are many people
here on this site who have sleep issues that can relate and maybe suggest what may
work for them.
Writing down these worries before sleep and leaving them next to your bed
would be a way of turning off your brain for 6-8 hrs. I personally use meditation
and breathing before bedtime, first thing in the morning and mid afternoon.
Our subconscious mind absorbs everything that happens to us in life and replays
it over and over 24/7. Only by retraining that part of the mind, can we succeed
in having positive thoughts replaced by the negative ones. I hope this helps some. xx
