Just grab your phone, turn on the camera, find some detail you like and zoom in on it. I have done this bag, a lamp base, my fireplace, a honey spreader, a chair and even the molding on a picture frame. Anything that catches your eye. You'd be suprised all the little details in what is around you that you don't notice because you look at it as a whole. You see the entire lamp but I notice the base. You might see a picture on the wall but I notice the lines of the frame. For me it's all about slowing down and noticing all the parts that create something. Kind of an exercise in mindfulness.
