outside of yourself

don’t act like such a stranger

pass me by with care

smile with your broken teeth

and please don’t move

when i paint you

in all of your favorite color

shooting down arms

and out of fingers

like a gun or magic tricks

sternly don’t question why

a million miles away

i can still see you under a lamp

and you’re melting

but still something
