I took it for seven years but had such severe side affects I got off. It was hard to get off if but so detrimental to my health I had to. I've been off for over two years and I am much better without it. It put me in a coma, I felt zero emotions. I would get in an elevator and not remember to push the button. It was awful.

Wow....Are you sure that we’re talking about the same medicine (Buspirone/Buspar)? I was told that it’s not an antidepressant, and it is milder.

How many tablets/mg were you taking per day?

Yes. They told me it was a mood stabilizer. I took it twice daily I think. I had to stop the morning does because I couldn't drive or work.

I'm taking 10mg 3 times daily. Not waking up in a panic. I'm not sure if it's the medicine or what.

I am currently taking it with an SSRI. It works best in combination with an antidepressant. I was taking 5 mg and then upped it to 15 mg. That seems to be the sweet spot. At the moment, I am almost free of anxiety and depression. I have zero side effects from the Buspirone. I also take Magnesium L-Threonate to help calm me down. My anxiety was quite out of control a few months ago. It's much better now. I also exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. I avoid alcohol, caffeine and sweets. There are many foods to avoid when you have anxiety and depression. Good luck!
