Escitalopram (Lexapro)

Just started new on this drug, after coming off sertraline (zoloft)

Sertraline barely had side effects. Now Escitalopram has more noticeable side effects like irritability, mental fogginess, gas. Mild though. I am scared they're gonna get worse and my dr will make me stop them and then boom , more symptoms and side effects will invade my life. I haven't felt good for more than a year, since my father passed. I am drawing and painting. Meditation is soon. Art does help. I eill keep updating . 😏

I honestly heard those are the norm side effects but I also read so much reviews that people realy feel much better after 4 to 6 weeks and that lexapro did alot better for many then zoloft. That's what I've heard from..

I would say if it gets worst just ride it out I'm sure itll get worst before it gets better or atleast from many people that's what they experience but its sure worth it at the end.

Good luck and stay strong

Keep on pushing

Hi BlueLadyBug, I am truly sorry for the loss of your father.

After much trial and error, I was put on Lexapro after my mother passed

and it has proven to be a good medication for me. It is important to give

any new med time to build to a sufficient efficacy level in the brain. Usually,

4-6 weeks unless the dose is raised during the time, then a couple weeks longer.

No matter what new med you will start on, there will always be some unpleasant

side effects that break through. Keep in touch with your doctor regarding this and

try to stay positive. Keeping your mind busy with something fulfilling is a good

distraction. I use daily Meditation and Breathing which will help keep your

Mind/Body Connection in check.

I wish you well with Lexapro. We're here to support you through this. :) xx

Thank you so much. I am so sorry about the loss of your mother as well. The sertraline i was on before this one helped me at a week or so , real quick.

This one is taking a little slower, don't know why. I need to call my dr. to see what he thinks.

It's good to know that meditation is helping you cope. I am getting started on that as well.

This blog is helping me so much. Thank you and stay strong
