thru the good and the bad...we made it somehow 😳. what’s are some 2019 highlights you have?

one of mine was working at an elementary school in a room of autistic (+) children ♥️ challenging, every inch heartbreaking, but so very heart filling with little big victories and miles and ages of love (and powerpuff girl episodes!)

I’m a college math tutor. One of the tutees I worked with last semester was quite difficult because of low self esteem and negativity. She previously failed the class because of that.

Working with her this past semester and keeping her on a positive mindset did indeed help her to pass the class. Let me tell you, that accomplishment made my year! ❤️

Thank you, torpe. The writing was joyful work, the culmination of what I've been doing since I was a boy. The publishing part was more exacting and time-consuming than I expected. But I'm very pleased with the result.😺

Why did you stop? Did you write poems?

torpe profile image
torpe in reply tomrmonk

i did write poetry very often from middle to high school onward but not as often as i’d like...i’m not quite sure but i’d love to dig in and start again!

Are the poems you've posted in the forum recently written? You use language imaginatively, much like the visual artwork you posted, and you have an excellent ear for line. I hope you write more poems; I enjoyed reading the ones you posted so far.

More grandbabies than I can handle😁! More are due in 2020 from kids who adamantly stated they weren’t having children. Lol

My dad passed but I’m 56 so I guess we had a good run and I see him in all my kids. He was such an amazing man.

I’ve made some incredible strides on my research project to help victims of ptsd. I’m very proud of that.

I’ve finally gained weight and kept it on. I think it’s the peanuts. Or maybe the donuts once a week. 😁. Nope, the peanuts. 😇

Compared to past years 2019 was pretty healthy.

oh my goodness that must feel so full in the heart...mini people that are part of you somehow 😳 i’m sorry for your loss...i’m glad that he’s still living in the ways of your children 💖 that’s amazing work to help those with ptsd and i’m proud of that for you as well! that is a feat to shout about. i’m so glad for you also gaining and keeping on weight! i’ve known many that struggled to do so. more power to you in the new year!! thank you for sharing!!

I was able to live life independently without my best friend always by my side.

i’m so happy to hear of your independence! that is definitely awesome...it can be hard without someone there to lean on but you’re doing it :)

Thank you. It really wasn't easy at first. He's the first person I usually confide at about my depression. He understands me well. He's always there for me when I go through the rough times. But my friend can't be with me always. I know he has a life to live. I guess he needs to find himself now. As same for me. :D
