Has anyone had the difficulty I have applying for disability benefits?

I waited a year got to hearing portion on internet and declined a hearing to have a medical decision based on evidence provided.

Yet when I called to check on my claim...I am.being told 2x now by representative's that I requested a hearing and it will be in 15 months. I have no job due to illness. I am running out of steam. 😥

My husband had to get an attorney. Yes they take a piece of it, but it was worth it. He never would have gotten it without the attorney. Get a disability attorney. They know what works. Use that 15 months to build your arsenal. With an attorney, it might turn out to be less than 15 months. Good luck.

I agree with mtnee....it took my brother-in-law over a year to hear from SS and he was denied. He got an attorney and it seemed to speed the process up and he was able to get SSDI. They paid him some retroactive money. I feel you....I was out of work for almost a year with no income and I was losing steam. Don’t give up!
