Advice Fluoxetine users pleeeease

Hello Ally here. Help. Iv been taking Fluoxetine 20mg for about a year and it's worked really well for me. So far. Someone mentioned to me the other day that "you have lost your sparkle". This statement is absolutely true. I don't seam to laugh much at the moment. Is it time to stop taking or go to doctor to increase the dose!? Advice please.

Fluoxetine is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI). A majority of docs prescribe SSRIs for mood disorders. Sometimes when someone becomes treatment resistant on SSRIs doctors will prescribe a med like a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor, or NDRI in addition to the SSRI you are currently taking. Common NDRI brands are Wellbutrin and Zyban but the generic name is Bupropion. Over the 40+ years I've been taking SSRIs I finally became treatment resistant and my prescriber added Bupropion to the Duloxotine (Cymbalta) I currently take. I'm finding I am more animated and more like the me of the old days. I hope this helps friend.

Oh gosh I really don't know much about all this. Trying to work out if I need more or less of it

Don't know the max you could be on but you could ask your doc if augmenting it with a Bupropion type of med might help you.
