So I'm feeling really off and confused. One of my worst fears is losing my mind or having early dementia. I'm 38 years old and my Dad has Parkinson's which has affected his memory and anxiety, my grandpa had dementia and my Grandma had Alzheimers. So I've watched them lose themselves. Anytime I feel off or confused I freak out. I always feel like my mind has to be sharp and it usually is. Most people have moments of forgetfulness and confusion on a regular basis but if I have it just once, I panic. I get this way every month before my period but for whatever reason I am letting it allow me to spiral. I almost feel detached from reality a little. Is this normal with anxiety?

Hi plato I understand were your coming from but it's highly unlikely that due to your family history that you will get parkinsons or alziheimers! I don't believe it's hereditary or I would worry my self silly as I lost my mum to vascular dementia and my dad has dementia yes I have anxiety and depression but that got nothing to do with them! Have you thought it's maybe hormonal imbalance that maybe causing the most of your problems its worth getting a blood test to rule out that! I wish you all the best david
Thank you David for your reply. I have had my hormones checked and they were all normal but that was some years ago, so it might be worth having them checked again. It almost feels like I'm not fully awake, but I think my anxiety is making it worse. So im feeling more out of it and confused. I really hate anxiety.
