I had a pretty good run of feeling good, but now it seems to be coming back. Every time I get a little bit brave and start to think I’m making progress, something happens to make me anxious again.
It sucks. It means I’ll have to be dealing with this for the rest of my life.

Do you exercise or meditate? I’m hoping it’ll help me. Do you know what makes you anxious?
I am really sorry you are feeling anxious. I find I have good and bad days. I notice with anxiety it can take an event out of our control to trigger it. Have you any coping methods which help when you are feeling anxious?
When my Anxiety gets to the point of having the worst panic possible I go for a walk with my partner (if it happens during normal walking hours). If it’s midnight or early morning which it’s mostly the time it creeps in, I do laundry, clean the kitchen and even cook : lol. I try to ride it out by keeping myself busy and active. It helps me and I get things done. If it doesn’t help then Xanax does the trick.
Kat- I too have my good days and bad days with anxiety. I think it’s just how the cycle works. You are still doing a great job. Keep moving forward my friend.
I know you can conquer this. It seems you have conquered it already. Stress and worrying over things is already meditating you are going over in your mind what bad things might happen and you can put good things that can happen in your mind. That is meditating. Do you meditate? I put on you tube and put on instrumental bible music and just read the bible verses that come up on the screen. I start focusing on that and what God is trying to tell me and it gives me a peace that passes all my thoughts and worries and understanding. You are strong and there are ways of not going back to the place you don't want to be. Thoughts are powerful, but if you can get them away from what makes you stress ( and it can be done), then you can conquer this. I was listening to Dr. Tony Evans and he stated, " Thoughts and emotions are like a train, the emotions should be the caboose ( back of the train) and our thoughts should be the engine ( front of the train). Don't confuse your thoughts and emotions. Just say to yourself , Just because I am thinking about this or that and feeling anxious, doesn't mean I have to feel it. Put good positive thoughts in the front, in your brain and make those negative feelings get behind you. Write down something everyday to yourself that is positive about you. Then go back when you are feeling this way and read it. There are so many things that can help us in times of worry and stress, and believe me you are not alone, you are not the only one struggling with this, We all do. Prayers for you.
I have a couple of self-hypnosis audios, and I’m going to listen to one in a few minutes. And do some reading and exercises in my self-esteem book, and in my 12-Step program.
Your friends are here for you. Okay? You can use our strength to help cope too. Reading is good but having someone to talk it over with is even better!
Your family of friends here are all concerned for you. We will talk to you and help you anytime you need it.
By all means keep reading and learning. But 'self' help is pretty ineffective without love and support from others.
Are the good times as frequent as before? Are the bad times less frequent? Sometimes we look at the journey ahead and feel beaten before we can take another step, but when we look backward at where we used to be, we see that we are progressing.
It took a long time to end up this hurt. Whatever we have each lived through (survived) the hits rarely come in one total "dose." They go on and on...like the Colorado River slowly digging out a grand canyon. It came in a series or a flow......It probably has to leave the same way. I think. Each victory is building a stronger base.
