Morning Running Anxiety

Hi, all. This weekend, I ran a morning race, but I tend to run less well in the mornings. I'm not sure why, but I always feel sick to my stomach when I run in the morning (afternoons and evenings I am fine, unless I eat unwisely beforehand). I usually throw up, dry-heave, or run really slow because I'm afraid I'll throw up or dry-heave. I also tend to be more anxious in the morning. Even with public speaking, I am a totally different person when I speak in the morning vs. when I speak in the afternoon or evening. Do you think the running thing might be partially due to anxiety? What can I do to treat what may be unusually high levels of cortisol in the morning, so that I can do better with morning races?

I usually don't run early. I always run in the afternoon or evening unless a race is scheduled in the morning because my body HATES morning runs. The earlier, the worse! The later, the better.
