I have a kardia on my iPhone. Last week I had a little afib going on and the next day my SVT showed up. I recorded both events and printed them out. I went to the ER just because I felt I should and took my printouts with me. The Doctor on duty took one look at my ekg prints , handed them back to me and said this is the good kind of afib you don't need to worry about it.. She sent me home. Today I saw my EP, showed him the same printouts, and he saw much more on those results. I am wearing a monitor for 2 weeks( it's the size of a quarter ) and then I'll probably start on a new medicine and have an ablation in the spring. If this is what happens with good afib what do you suppose happens with bad afib ? He also gave me a quick lesson in how to read the ekg graph so I know a little of what to look for. Pam

THE GOOD KIND OF AFIB ?
Continuous af is not good. An abnormal or extra blip is ok and from exhaustion, caffeine, stress, meds. The Holter monitor will tell exactly what's up. Are you on meds already for af. If it is constant a cardiac ablation can convert it but why a scheduled one?? I don't get it.
I have been in afib and experienced Svt which showed up on my kardia printout. The ER doctor missed it. The monitor is not a Holter monitor It's very small and it's called a Zio xt, it works in much the same way. I have had two ablations already. The first 12 years ago , the second one 2 years ago. During the second one my EP detected some cellular movement that couldn't be ablated as it moved to fast and was too small. So I've known a third Ablation was probably going to happen. They are going to try and stabilize my heart rhythm and also schedule me for an ablation in the spring. If the meds work I'll cancel the appointment . Aren't all ablations scheduled ? I'm on Metropole and Eliquis . I want the ablation because I am so symptomatic I have no life. The ablations give that back to me and if I get 2 years afib free I'll take it. The afib experience is so different for everyone . Pam
So this is been diagnosed and treated for a while. Yes they are scheduled but I thought fairly soon after it's needing to be converted.
It's just a matter of time.
