I’ve lived with depression and grief so long that I don’t remember what it’s like to be unburdened.

I was just saying in another post that that’s the same way I feel about having anxiety. I don’t remember what it feels like to not have anxiety. Lately, it’s making me curious to find out.

I took a class on emotional Intelligence once, and in the class they mentioned that our minds have 3 times greater capacity to feel negative emotions rather than positive ones. And that is what made feeling positive so difficult and so rewarding. I thought it was interesting.

Don't give up hope. I can understand the desire to just feel normal again. I felt much the same way after my brother (in law) died tragically. My daughters counselor suggested trying to find something every day to be thankful for. Praying that your burden is lighter today. Let me know if you want some additional resources that may be helpful.
