Does anyone struggle with panic and anxiety in the classroom? If so, what are ways that you cope with it?
Mindfulness has been super helpful, but I'm open to learning about other ways.

I know there are some good breathing techniques, i would suggest you look the up as i don't want to give wrong info but they may be like breaths in and breaths out.. the counting clears you're mind of other noise and getting the right amount of oxygen and calming slowness in the counts works!
I'm very transparent with all my professors about my anxiety before the classes start each semester. Knowing I can leave the room when I needed helped me a lot. Also staying engaged with the work or teacher also helps me.
I had one of the worst panic attacks of my life in class today. I ended up just leaving to go to the bathroom to get myself together. Like a comment said, be transparent with your teachers because they may not understand why you may need to leave the room if you don’t. Just remember to keep breathing and if you need to leave the room, that’s ok as well. Being in a classroom is nice because you can be easily distracted by the lesson being taught. My panic returned the second I stopped listening in on what was going on and started to pay attention to my body. Remember it’s a fire. If you feed it, it will only grow larger. So breathe and distract.
Positive affirmations are always good too. I always say “you are healthy. You are strong. You can get through this.”
Also, I don’t know if this is the same for you but we have a health center at our school where they have people to help during panic attacks. See if your school has a psychologist you can go to if you end up needing one during or after a panic attack.
You’ve got this. You are strong.
