Stop a Panic attack

What is the best thing you found to do during a panic attack to stop it or reduce the length? Me i just got to keep thinking its just a panic attack I am not going to die, it will go away soon. That helps the most. Once i start thinking " am i having a heart attack" or somthing like that it gets so much worse so i try not to think that. What do you do?

Stop what I am doing and try to breathe. If I can't sit still I pace or do some squats and or lunges. Listen to music or talk to someone. I haven't figured out how to stop it or shorten the length, but those things do help deal with it as it's happening.

It’s honestly all about shutting out those thoughts. No matter what you think about when you’re panicking, it will only make you feel worse, so just try to focus on breathing and bringing your heart rate down. Every time a thought comes in, push it out. Hum to yourself if you have to. I find a fan helps tremendously both because of the soothing wind sound but also if you sit right in front of it, it will help you breath.

Anytime. Let me know if it helps. Panic attacks are the WORST but they will not last forever. Although it may feel like you’re dying, a panic attack won’t kill you. You may pass out if you start to hyperventilate which sadly I have done but that was all. Stay strong and get a good sleep. Hugs❤️

I distract myself with a hobby, music or friends.

Distracting yourself from what is happening or going through your mind when the panic attack sets in will help. Also knowing your triggers is also helpful at slowing them down, shortening them and even preventing them completely. You can overcome! your panic attacks do not control you!
