Hey, I was gonna go out for a drink tonight. I'm on 200 mg of lamictal. I haven't drank in a few years but I just need something to take the edge off. If you follow me you know I'm having bad health issues and my baby's father cheated and left.
Do you think itll affect my meds? Anyone else take this and drink?

Lots of people drink on their meds. I never suggest it. Great big IF then remember women don’t metabolize alcohol very fast and Lamictal will make it slower. I’m not suggesting it but IF you do I would say a beer or two, a glass of wine or two well placed out. Now remember it’s going to make your pills less effective at their job.
I say drink sprite mixed with OJ and pretend. You don’t mess up your entire system that way.

i take lamictal 50mg. i take it in the morning after i work a night shift because i sleep during the day. on my nights off i have a few mixed vodka drinks and i have had no adverse side effects. vodka makes me sleepy with or without being on lamictal. hope this helps.

Gosh, sorry better that he left if it was that easy for him to walk away. I've never heard of Medication that you drink? Is this for anxiety? If you're not comfortable with it, ask your doctor to change it?
As neuronerd mentioned, many people drink while on medication. I too take lamictal and will occasionally have a glass of wine at night if I feel like it. However this is me, I know my body and how I will handle it.
As others have mentioned if you have concerns about the two mixing it’s always good to ask a professional, especially since your on a higher dose. If you do drink, be safe In doing so. And there’s no shame in going out and having a non alcoholic mixed drink If your concerned about the alcohol.

I always think of my internal organs have to deal with meds on top of alcohol.
I wouldn't risk my liver or kidneys for alcohol with these meds.
