Hey, guys! Since this is an anxiety/depression support group, do you know if HealthUnlocked has any groups where I can ask health-related questions? In the meantime, I'll just put this out there if anyone wants to answer. Yesterday, I took a run and felt a lot of heartburn, but I didn't think much of it because that's happened to me before. Early this morning, however, I woke up feeling really sick and, after a good 10 minutes of burping, I started dry-heaving (I think my body was trying to throw up, but I really hate throwing up so I kept it down through effort). After I dry-heaved, I felt better, but I'm really concerned. My dad survived a widowmaker heart attack a couple years ago, and this occurred shortly after he had long periods of waking up in the middle of the night burping, having heartburn, and feeling nauseous. After his heart attack, this stopped happening frequently (though there have been isolated incidents since). I'm not sure if it's related, but the parallels are scary. Should I be worried? To give some more context, I should note that I have had ulcers in the past from doing some really stupid stuff with hot sauce, but I didn't have anything spicy last night (though I did yesterday morning, though it was only hot cheetos, not like the other times when I ate half a jar of ghost pepper salsa or the time I drenched my chili with scorpion pepper sauce; I also had a really spicy pizza a couple days ago, but it wasn't anything jackass like the incidents described above). Thoughts?

I think the right thing for you to do is go see your doctor or visit A&E/ER whichever is the soonest. Nobody here or on any of the other forums are medical professionals so our opinion is worthless. Only a medical professional can give you the information you need. It may be nothing at all. But you need the reassurance that only a professional can give you. I hope you quickly recover from this but don't take chances, that's what doctors are for.
