Does anybody else feel like working plummets their mental health? I fear that I will not be able to hold a job and have good mental health since stress triggers my mental health so badly

Impact on work
My spiritual counselor (and the smartest man I've ever known) insisted that I keep working through this period of difficulty. My work can be very stressful. However, work did slow down and I saw what he was getting at. Keeping a sense of normalcy and proving to yourself on a daily basis that you are still a functioning human being is actually very important.
Hello it is either you find a less stressful job or start to like it. Do you have friends at work? That helps me tremendously! I feel like you do also sometimes because you come home so drained. 5 days a week is tough I agree. But we need to be out in the world contributing. If it is possible to lessen the workload try that... and try to find enjoyment
Yes, destroys my mental and physical health. But, I don't qualify for disability. Homelessness is also scary. Too much illness without health insurance I could not afford left me financially destitute.
Personally I had a very stressful job and i got to the point I couldn’t work anymore
So what did you do? I’m a social worker so I love helping others. I’m the most selfless person I know. But my job is one of the most stressful ones too. Physically, mentally, and biologically, working with people in crisis can put yourself in crisis. I know this is what I’m meant to do tho. Maybe just need a different angle
