Has anyone studied mindfulness?? I am learning about it but find it difficult to really tune into my own thoughts on that level. Any suggestions??

As Borahae said, Headspace is a good app and so is Buddhify. I use both daily - and I have no patience for meditation... I have anxiety! Both apps are teaching me a lot.

Hi - my therapist recommended The Mindful Way Workbook and I've done part of it. Have also found a lot of resources including free guided meditations online. Challenging for me too but I guess it comes with practice. An article from the Mayo Clinic says "Aim to practice mindfulness every day for about six months. Over time, you might find that mindfulness becomes effortless. Think of it as a commitment to reconnecting with and nurturing yourself." Good luck with your journey :)

Yes! It’s a wonderful practice. In addition to the 2 suggestions below, also try the App Pacifica.

Books by Thich Nhat Hanh are great too!!!!

I get more from praying to God I don't see the point of mindfulness

WyoNurse,

Hi, I hear you. mindfulness seems simple in words and difficult in action. The best way to explain it, that I’ve been able to make sense with, is this: we have feelings, we acknowledge them as we have them, some are harder than others. Mindfulness is being able to say, either out loud or mentally, “I’m having (this) feeling!” Let yourself feel it, know why it came up, then say okay. Then let it go. The goal is to breathe through it, be in the moment and not give it more power than it already has, and do our best at continuing to breathe.

It’s definitely easier said than done, but well worth the practice. 💚
