Hi all,

Not too long ago I suffered with anxiety, depression, insomnia, and severe stress.

After much soul searching I came across a simple understanding that totally changed my life.

During this long and painful search I realised that by changing the way I looked at things, I could see a new way of overcoming them.

Here's one thing to remember:

If you always focus on problems, you'll have more problems,

When you focus on possibilities, you'll have more opportunities

Spot on. The power of training ourselves to focus on positives rather than dwelling on negatives is amazingly powerful...and to a very large degree it's a matter of choice so most all of us can do it if we work at it.

You've got it!

Deciding to think positive (or negative) is something everyone with a thinking brain can do.

It's called Free Will. 🙂

My own experience is that mental illnesses are related to family genetics, in many cases. No doubt there are those who say it is down to poor nurture. I.e. environment in which depression/anxiety caused by for example abusive parents.
