Spot on. The power of training ourselves to focus on positives rather than dwelling on negatives is amazingly powerful...and to a very large degree it's a matter of choice so most all of us can do it if we work at it.
Deciding to think positive (or negative) is something everyone with a thinking brain can do.
It's called Free Will. 🙂
My own experience is that mental illnesses are related to family genetics, in many cases. No doubt there are those who say it is down to poor nurture. I.e. environment in which depression/anxiety caused by for example abusive parents.
