Depression and Pain.

Hi,

I have clinical depression and severe back pain due to spinal damage.8-((

Currently, I amtaking300mg of Venlafaxine daily for the depression but what I would like to know is that if I change to Amitriptyline at 100mg for my depression would it also act as pain relief for my back?

Hi Martin I my self take both venlafaxine and amitriptalene! The venlafaxine is great for depression and the amitriptalene is good for pain but it is primarily a antidepressant I don't know the dosage you are taking but don't change what your taking unless you see your doctor first don't try self medication as it's not worth the problems you have!
