Work lunch anxiety

Hi guys, haven’t been here for a week or 2, I’ve been doing really well maintaining my anxiety and depression. However yesterday I feel like I lost it. I went to lunch with a coworker and I felt so anxious, my senses heightened I could hear the music and people talking so loudly, felt dizzy, and my heart was racing. I lied to my coworker and told her that I was getting stomach pain and had to go back to the office because I wasn’t feeling good. Idk what happened but now I’m nervous to go to dinner with my fiance’s aunt because I’m worried it’ll happen again 😟

I’d say don’t avoid the dinner with your aunt. If you do, it will perpetuate the fear and it will get bigger.

Tell yourself you’ve got this and you aren’t going to let the fear determine what you do. Then, go have dinner. If the fear pops up, tell it to hang out for dinner but that you aren’t budging. Then, wait. Eventually the fear will subside. You can do this!

I'm so sorry you went through that. I'm almost always at home when I feel anxious and its heightened first thing in the mornings and around bedtime. For the most part I sleep on the couch but I thought I would sleep in my bed tonight but no such luck.
