Mental illness

I think It would be better to not be aware of our mental issues than to know of them. Knowing I'm ill in some way bothers me it makes u feel low and it doesn't boost my self esteem. Because we all know most people call us crazy and don't want to be bothered with a person with mental issues. So for those reasons I hate knowing and being ill.

I can relate to this, although remember there are many many people who are caring and supportive on this site. We do understand.

The labeling issue is real though. So I try to remind myself that I wouldn’t feel bad for having a broken leg so why should I feel bad for having a broken fight or flight response (i.e., anxiety). And, I remind myself that I am someone outside of my anxiety. It’s something I have but it isn’t me. I am a person with anxiety. But I’m not anxiety.
