Sleeping only 3-4 hours each night

I’ve been sleeping 3-4 hours each night for over a month. Should I be concerned ? I just started medication for anxiety and depression and the psychiatrist said it would help with sleep but I’m guessing not for a while... has anyone gone through this? I have been prescribed Gabapentin for sleep but it doesn’t make me sleep more than 3-4 hours. For some reason my body is stuck on that time frame.

Hi Coralrose, I recommend trying all the sleep hygiene things: turn off all screens an hour before you want to sleep; keep the room dark & cool; no tv or phone in the bedroom; no caffeine after noon; no heavy meals or intense exercise right before bed. If you wake up, get out of bed, turn on the light and read. And one night try Benadryl or dramamine and see if that helps. They are pretty safe & make you sleepy. Been there. Good luck!!
