So I’ve been doing pretty good with my depression and anxiety and I started a new job selling pest control. I wanted to sell pest control because A. I need money and B. It would bring me out if my comfort zone and help me with talking to new people. So far it’s been a month since I’ve started doing it and I haven’t made a single sale. It’s embarassig and makes me think of all the other things in my life that I do wrong. I know people will tell me that sales isn’t for everyone and I should find a new job but I don’t want to. I know it will help me grow and make me more confident/make me not afraid of rejection (which I desperately need) but right now I’m struggling and embarrassed bc I haven’t sold anything and it’s just making me sad and feel like I bad. I would just like advice I guess because this website had helped me a lot in the past.

Struggling with work
By continuing to get out there each day, you are showing persistence, resiliency, and determination. Those are traits of successful people. Don’t give up!
You are brave to challenge yourself in such a way. I commend you for finding a job outside of your comfort zone. Pest control is more of a need in the summer where I live. Perhaps it will pick up when you are in another season. Hang in there.
Hello Chav,
Am so proud of you for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and not even giving up on yourself even though you haven’t made any sales in a month. They say practice makes perfect. Perfection comes with time. Many great archivers were earlier on in their career labeled as failures but with persistence they finally made it. You can get some resource about sales on google. Learn something that will help you with sales and will be on your way to success. Bill Gates and Albert Einstein, we also labeled as failures. Albert Einstein was even expelled from school and labels slow student, but he won the Nobel Prize for his scientific research and knowledge. Stay hopeful. I listened to this talk about Overcoming Adversity and it was helpful. You can look at it when less busy. bit.ly/2tpn3cK
