In 2015 I was sacked after ending up in hospital and not able to ring in explaining why I was in work - gross misconduct. Afterwards I just couldn't get a job, my illnesses and disabilities were a problem for interviewers, one asking how much time are you going to have off with your disabilities and illnesses?
I eventually was taken on by one place on a zero hour contract.
All the while my savings were dwindling and I could just about pay my rent and nothing else.
I now have a job and work three days a week.
But the council tax was left I just didn't have money to pay it and now I am in serious trouble. I kept in contact with the council explaining the situation but no help came and now it's been handed to a bailiff. I've offered to pay £200 per month until it is all cleared. But they are not listening and keep sending the bailiffs round. I'm scared of them taking my car because it's my independence and my transport to and home from work.
Does anyone know of anyone who helps situations like this.
My conditions are
Fibromialgia syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, Fibrous Dysplasia, Frozen Pelvis, Polyarthralgia, Polymyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Arthritic Fever, Achilies tendinitis, hemiplegic migraines, Stucco Keratosis, Functional Tremor, anxiety, depression, none alcoholic fatty liver disease, Fractured 11th vertebrae, crumbling disks T3, 4 & 5, no feeling in all toes on both feet, irritable leg syndrome, corpal tunnel syndrome and chondromalacia of the left patellofemoral joint grade 3.
The DWP say I'm not disabled enough for housing benefit and council tax help. I do live alone so have no other financial help coming in. I've got medium care and mobility PIP which helps if I am I'll.
So back to my question, does anyone know of anyone who helps in situations where bailiffs are now involved?
I am scared.
