Not feeling like myself
Hi maudpod, anything in particular going on in the last several weeks besides the holidays? As for the Lexapro (which I am on as well) have you ever had your dose
increased in those 10 years? It might be best to talk with your prescribing doctor/therapist
to work out what you are going through. Both situational as well as medication wise.
I will say, that for many, this time of year can be the most difficult in adjusting to. The
start of a new year can bring challenges and doubts as in what to expect. Most of us
with anxiety tend to look down the road instead of staying in the moment and enjoying
each day.
I hope you get some answers soon. x
It just so happens that I was feeling this way for several weeks a few weeks ago and spoke to my internist (who is my prescribing doctor) about increasing my dose. I went from 20mg to 40mg and have not seen any improvements. That being said I have also been on pain medication fairly regularly for the past 3 years as a result of a botched back surgery. I think I am seeing a pattern of increased depression when I run out of the pain meds and stall in getting a new prescription. Wondering if what I could be feeling is heightened from withdrawal. The good news is I haven’t taken pain medication in 2 days and so far my pain is tolerable.
maudpod, it could very well be coming from a withdrawal issue with your pain meds.
That's good in that your pain is tolerable w/o taking the meds but anytime we are on
a drug for a long time, it's going to affect the way we feel when holding back or missing
a dose. Since your doctor doubled your dose of Lexapro, it could be your brain adjusting to the increase of this SSRI.
A couple months ago, I went up from 15mg to 20mg (Lexapro) and was surprised even at that small increase, that I did get withdrawal type symptoms for a couple weeks and
then stabilized. It's best to keep in touch with your doctor since he knows your case
history and can give you the proper advice. My best to you. x
