Just been given this to start tonight as not been sleeping long through the night and mild depression has happened to me for the very first time and i reached out straight away because i scared the absolute crap out of myself. I do have GAD so hoping this does help me out. Im willing it to work as ive been off work 2 weeks now so hoping for some normality whatever normal is.

I started Mirtazapine a few months ago for insomnia. If I took the whole 30 mg at bedtime I'd wake up in a couple of hours and toss and turn for a while. If I take 15 mg 2 hours before bed and the rest at bedtime it works well. I'm sleeping better than I can ever remember. They suggest that small dosages like 7.5mg might work better for sleep but I found that it didn't help me.

Thanks for your reply, are you on it just for insomnia? Iv got 15mg so itll be my first night on it tonight. They've given me it for mild depression too so hoping it relieves it

Sorry I'm late getting back. For me it's just insomnia (although my mood is better since I'm sleeping).
