Relocated and had anxiety attack week 1 at the new gig

I have relocated to my new duty station and met the nee crew I will be working with. They all were friendly and welcoming, so why did I have an anxiety attack the day they were having a pre-thanksgiving potluck? I managed and did not want to seem like the rude new boss who did not participate with the team.
