something that always helped me when dealing with panic attacks is to realize that even though it might seem like your about to die or like your going crazy, you aren’t. nothing about it can hurt you. and a key part is to not fight them. notice the sensations your feeling and accept that they can’t hurt you one by one. and if your in a situation where you feel trapped like in class, no one can get mad at you for having to get up and take a couple minutes to breathe, maybe grab a friend to talk you through it or distract you if you have one near by. hope this helps a little:)

There are a few great YouTube videos by David Carbonell called the panic trick. Hope they help!

I Kaybear,

Most definitely Dr. Claire Weekes! Please check out my profile. Yes she is a genius. She figured out anxiety and panic completely, and over decades her self help books and audio have brought so much relief to people! I hope you are feeling better soon :)

I used to get 10 a day and the controlled my life but this is what I did, I do this every single day: meditation, journaling, exercise, eat healthy, stop using social media, get outside, take a multivitamin, see a therapist, and go to bed early. It works, trust me!

What type of meditation?

Just lay on the floor and focus on your breathing

Hey KayBear,

I don't know why you are having the panic attacks but what I do to kind of "control" them is i just put on a song that will make me think about an experience i had that i particularly enjoyed and try to relive that moment as you are listening to the song it will distract your mind so hopefully you be calm enough to go back to "normal'

I started having panic attacks at around 15 years old. The first one still makes me panic when I think about it. I was in a classroom in HS and it just starting happening. I didnt know what it was, but it felt awful. I had to drop the call because I thought it would help. It didnt. Over the years I have learned to face it head on and it does help. My best advice is to accept the feelings and understand they will not hurt you. If you continue to struggle please see a therapist and talk about the underlying cause of the attacks. Medication is only necessary if they continue to interfere with your life and cause to not be able to relax and recover. You are not alone and there is no one relief for these, but understanding and patience can go alone way.
