Anxiety and taste buds!

Does anyone else have disturbances in taste when they’re anxious? I have health anxiety (and everything else anxiety 🙄) and I often worry about what I’m eating. Sometimes my food tastes totally horrible....different - and my family say it tastes fine.....

I’m so glad it’s not just me! I wonder what causes that?

I don’t know. The other day I ate chicken nuggets that I usually love and they tasted terrible. Or I’ll have no appetite at all so I force myself to eat crackers and drink sprite.

It’s so weird! I think it must be because we’re hyper alert when we’re anxious and our senses are heightened?

It is crazy what anxiety can cause.

My appetite fluctuates as well. And, it seems as if nothing tastes really great-it's just fuel to keep me going until the next meal.
