Hello , it can be hard to seek help when you really need it most. I know it’s scary and maybe you are afraid that counseling and meds make you weak. I’ve found personally that meds help with the more physical symptoms of anxiety but make my depression worse. Therapy is a good step in my opinion, sometimes all you need is just to tell someone every dark little thing inside of your mind. I know that life seems dark and impossible right now, but I’m here to tell you that you aren’t alone. Some things I have tried though that work better for me (but of course I would suggest going to the doctor and seeing a therapist) is art. Doing anything creative like writing, singing, painting, playing an instrument, cross stitching etc to take your mind off of things for awhile. Anyways I hope whatever your time zone or area that you are somewhere safe and just know that you are cared about.
I think when you get the right fit of a therapist who understands your needs and is able to connect with you....it's a really big help....
Hi there. Therapy and meds together have been best for me. I feel like my therapist gets me and is at a similar place in life which helps with most of my issues. It takes time though.... it's cumulative kinda like how the depression meds can take some time to work. I encourage you to go for it as hard as it is now because you are worth the investment in time! Think of it like investing in yourself. Educational insight. Keep looking if you don't mesh with the first therapist. Just my 2 cents worth! Hang in there! We support you
The answer to your question is yes, with the right balance. It may take a few tries to find a medication that meets ones needs. For many, a combination of med and counseling provides the most relief. It can even allow for less dependency on the medication as things get worked out in counseling. Please consider moving forward with a treatment plan. It may not fix everything, but it can help reduce one or more of the issues, thereby reducing some of the others, kind of like a domino affect. Hang in there and good luck.
