Hey everyone! Brian here! Well, as many of you know, yesterday was supposed to be my first radiation treatment for cancer. Well, something unexpected came up....
I'm too tall.
Yes, you heard me right. The machine that is going to be used to administer the radiation is situated in such a way that when they put me on the table and tried to line me up so they can do the treatment, my head was literally touching the radiation machine AND it was off the table. I'm like WTF??? lol No matter how hard they tried, even with my legs hinged like the hind legs on a frog, the radiation techs were uncomfortable trying to administer the radiation with me as I was positioned. So, the radiation oncologist and his team have to go back and come up with a way to position me in the machine feet first. I don't know why they didn't consider that in the first place! lol So, I go back on Wednesday (Aug. 8) to try again and hopefully, they'll have their ducks in a row so I can get started. lol I hope everyone's having a good weekend and I'll be around on the forums over the course of the weekend
Your friend,
Brian

geezzzz...what knuckleheads.....some of the smartest people can pull a knucklehead move too....sorry about that Bri.....well....hopefully they will get this worked out okay, getting yourself all psyched up was enough, but then this...man...I feel for you, sorry buddie.
It does not surprise me in the least the stupid moves some people make, but in your case buddy...that was inexcusable.
me too buddie....I got right out this morning and picked a cucumber and just ate half of it for breakfast...it was good....refreshing actually. Had stir fry from the garden last night...yeah baby....gettin my veggies on here....napa, yellow beans,onion,squash..all from the garden....my partner isn't real big on veggies, but is now a convert....
That sounds crazy. You would think they would have ran into this before or at least planned for people of different heights. Sounds like a Three Stooges skit. Luckily Moe wasn't there with a saw. 😊
wow Brian, I agree they should of seen your height & realized. i'm sure they are going to fix this for you! Hang in there my friend...you deserve the best! Love & Hugs....XXX
Brian, good luck for the next time for radiation. You wrote about the experience with such humor...and you have great courage to go thru all of this treatment for cancer.
Thank you for sharing, makes me want to be more fearless in life.
Oh boy! Yeah you’d think you were not the first tall person who needed this but I applaud your response to the situation. I’d probably be balling when I left there. Best to you! ❤️
