I do believe having repeated concussions can cause lasting issues. I haven't had a concussion but in 2006 I was struck by lightning and I feel it made my ADD, anxiety and depression worse. At the time people (doctors included) thought it was all stress but I could tell there was a difference. By the time they started to think it had to do with the lightning it was too late to prove anything. But to this day there are things about me that changed and not for the good.
Getting hit by lightning is crazy. That definitely had to change your brain. That's sad but you are alive.
Before I had been hit I always liked writing. The summer before I had even been accepted into a writing program at a local college and during the summer I had worked on a children's story. I got up to chapter 4 that summer. Then the following summer I was hit by lightning. Several months later I realized the words were gone. Sitting and writing became a chore rather something pleasant. It has been that way ever since. The ideas are gone as well. The writing part is what really bothered me. That was who I was then I didn't know anymore.
YES!!! Mine changed me and made me more anxious its what started my anxiety sadly
Yes definitely! It is well documented that blows to the head especially near the front of the brain can cause some brain damage and alter an individuals personality. x
I had talked to my dr many times about my concussions. For a female I've had 11 concussions. Car accidents, physical abuse; I took numerous blows to the head. And I've been unconscious. I wonder if there is any medication to help?
absolutely....it's known as being 'Punch Drunk' in boxing.
See a clinical neuro psychologist for help. They can offer neuro biofeedback treatment.
In the for what it’s worth category, I absolutely agree. Concussions or any brain injury can most definitely effect mental health.
