Hi Shutterfly, I’ve been in that situation a week ago and understand how you feel. My anxiety took over me and had a panic attack. It helped me to talk to a professional. Wasn’t a therapist or psychologist just a simple doctor but talking is one of the best way to feel better I would say. Anxiety makes me keep everything for mebut keeping things won’t help. If you could find someone who can listen to you without judging would be great . I’m a good listener if you need to
Hi Shutterfly,
I TOTALLY understand! If I could get paid to worry I would be the richest woman in the world!!!
I know where I learned it too, from my dad! He used to always say "You've GOT to worry about these things!"
I guess, in part, I also inherited it from him as well.
I am in therapy and see a Psychiatrist and now, in addition to my anti-depressant, I just started taking a mood stabilizer, Abilify.
With just the tiniest dose to start, within days my anxiety calmed quite a bit, my irritable bowel symptoms stopped, after months of non-stop symptoms, and my energy level increased just a little but enough to get me to do some things!!!!!
Talk to your Dr, see a therapist if you are not already and remember, YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE!
Someone will ALWAYS be here for you, so keep coming back!
Hugs,
MJ
This happens to me, too! And it is so easy to look around at everyone else and think they don't have any problems and would never understand this. One thing that has really helped me with feeling less alone is going to a support group. I went for a long time to an Emotions Anonymous group: emotionsanonymous.org/. I don't know if there is anything like that in your area, but it really helped me to have a safe, supportive environment to talk about what was going on and to hear that other people have struggles, too. Also, journaling has been really helpful for me lately.
Thanks for your suggestions.
I have a psychologist that I’ve been seeing for a few months. I actually was in a 10 week group Cbt group for social anxiety last spring I’m thinking to try to attend drop in sessions in the fall.
