So since anxiety and panic can mimic feelings of genuine medical problems....How the heck would you ever know if its a medical emergency or just anxiety?! I hate panic attacks!

hi, yes the symptoms can mimic something else, BUT... not exactly. as you will be very aware, a panic attack does subside, something serious does not. a panic attack is often sudden and intense, a serious problem often has other signs... also not so sudden and urgent. write down what symptoms you experience leading up to and during a panic attack. this can be helpful in recognising future panics. if you have the usual routine health checks, like your blood pressure for example, it may alleviate some of your worries about other things. i know it is a worry, but panic is not dangerous or life-threatening. it is little comfort at the time i know.

It’s hard but I’ve gotten used to the panic attack feeling so I know that it is a panic attack. It is tricky sometimes though. Get yourself a routine check up and if you are healthy then you can tell yourself it is just a panic attack. I got an EKG a month ago and it says my heart is good so I know I have a good heart and if my heart is acting weird that is panic and not a heart attack.
