Feeling small

My daughter is embarrassed that I have a lowly job. Her new in laws are rich and my husband and I are very poor and in debt. My husband is letting our house fall apart and I feel very embarrassed by it. Her new in laws have new cars, trucks and campers. My husband has a thirty year old truck.

I'm sorry your feeling this way. We can only do the best we can with what we have to work with and how much money someone has doesn't make a person better than anyone else. Hold your head high and be proud of the things you have accomplished. Material things will come and go but who you are inside, your heart.........thats the real stuff.

I understand where you are coming from. Remember they are just people too, go ahead & let them judge you....in the end that won't be good for them! Life is not about all the $ & toys you have. There is a lot more to it than that! Big hugs for you!!!

Your daughter sorry is the one who has the problem. Plus, if you are in debt and the house is falling apart, and you have a thirty year old truck - has she ever offered any help if she is in that position? Doesn't she realize that she would not exist without you two? Also, you sound like solid people- money sure does not make anyone a good person. If you watch the news and hear about all of the rich pols- well that should tell you something.
