Panic attacks with ssri

Has anyone experienced panic attack after taking SSRI?A bad ,a severe one .

Did you just start taking them? If yes, take half the RX for about a week and then increase so your body adjusts easier. I did that with Paxil 10 mg. I started with 5 mg for a week or so.

I was on a few SSRIs that caused severe panic attacks when they finally determined I had bipolar 2. Apparently a common reaction for those with bipolar. I’m not in any way presuming you have the same condition. While SSRIs are in the same family they work differently for each individual. I agree with Francesca61 that reducing your dose then increasing it slowly is a good idea. If you’re finding it’s still not effective speak with your doctor about trying a different medication. There are plenty options.
