Why are most parents like this?

My mom is messy . If one of her children does nothing really bad or just anything she has to go and run her mouth and tell family and friends and it's very embarrassing.

Seriously Moms aren't perfect, don't mean to hurt you and maybe letting off steam If you think you're going to change her, not likely. But have you ever sat down with her in a quiet moment and talked with her. Maybe she doesn't realize how she is impacting you. Maybe promise to better if she won't talk about your mistakes. I had the flip side. No matter how well or fine a thing I did Mom never noticed or said anything to me. I just learned to accept that is how she was. She mellowed as I grew older and I realized the pressure she had been under with six kids.

Just keep doing your own thing. Fight for yourself if you have to. Let her know you deserve respect, least she could do. Parents aren't always right you know. My dad was abusive but the way my mom was and how she never divorced him, it showed that she justified his behavior all these years. And how it impacted me, she just justified it. Sad. So just stand up for yourself if its safe to do so.
