This is so dumb, I’m sick and it’s gotten worse, all flu symptoms, been taking DayQuil and drinking lots of liquids. But my brain keeps going to “your dying, this is it.” I literally just turned 26, 2 days ago and am in between my jobs insurance and my parents insurance, haven’t even had a chance to enroll in a new plan, I just got all the paperwork (in America btw), so that’s making all my anxiety worse cuz I can’t go to the doctor right now. Just looking for someone to calm me down, I don’t know what to do.

Hi itsOkay_ I hope you feel better. My son just got tested for the flu and it was positive so I absolutely understand your concern. Is there anyway you can get to an ER and maybe be billed for it just to get yourself checked out by a doctor ? In the mean time continue to drink liquids that helps. Tea with honey, orange juice, water and chicken broth are all good

Thanks for the reply, there is an immediate care center near me and if I’m not feeling better tomorrow morning I think I’m going to just go and get billed. Not sure how much that will cost. But yes in the meantime I just had some soup and am drinking tea and honey currently, just wish there was a remedy for my health anxiety too
There are some online Dr.s who I’ve heard are cheaper than going in to a dr.s office or urgent care. Webmd or something like that. Only thing is I don’t know how they would run tests to see if it is the flu. I was thinking about going that route if I need a Dr for anything in the future as I don’t have insurance either.
Hope you feel better soon.
I get horrible health anxiety, so I understand. This year's flu is horrible. I got it & was out for a week, plus recovering for a while after that. I know here (CA) they are asking for patients to call first, so they can determine if you need to come in. Keep doing what your doing.... lots of rest & liquids. Try not to go out unless really really nessary. I hope you feel better soon. Mel
