Anxiety or any mental health problem will affect every system in your body. Especially you GI system. Obviously I don’t know your symptoms but worked in ICU my adult career and on the squad. Anxiety is bad because not only is it miserable but it’s symptoms mimic very serious conditions. Sometimes it will even get in your head and tell you somethings wrong when it isn’t. The symptoms though are very real. The pain, the abdominal discomfort, the trouble breathing...you name it. Luckily for you though typically these problems don’t show as bad in testing. Like difficulty breathing but your oxygen saturation may be 99-100 which is perfect. Long term some of our anxiety can cause issues but not usually one on its own. Anxiety is hard on your body from your skin to your heart. That’s a fact. It can however be managed with proper treatment. Diet and exercise or activity being top on the list with relaxation techniques. A therapist can help you with recognizing triggers, developing coping skills, relaxation techniques and getting to the root of the problem as well as helping you retrain your brain to change the way we perceive things. If you would like to pm me I would be happy to help you find more reassurance but without knowing what’s going on I can’t say you aren’t having problems. If I do our advice should never take the place of a doctor. GI problems are one of the more common symptoms of anxiety just less likely to be discussed in public. I suffer! I’m a grandma, mom, caretaker fir my parents and retired from rescue squad and ICU. I’m here if you need me to help you with some reassurance.
