Why am I still awake? πŸ˜”

My brain won't shut down. My meds aren't kicking in. All I want is few hours of sleep. Is that too much to ask for? I barely got 3 hours yesterday and as tired as I am nothing working. When I do manage to sleep it's going to suck waking up.

Insomnia is the pits, isn't it? I'm going through a bout of it now too, but know it will eventually end. :)

Didn't sleep at all last night, and I don't drink caffeine.

Have just about fallen out of my rocker twice dosing while watching the news About 7:30p.m. here. :)

Try taking trazodone(prescription med). But you have about 30 minutes after taking it for it to start making you drowsy. It is a "lite" drowsy effect, but I have to take it 7 1/2 hours before I want to wake up. If you take it too late, you end up with a trazodone hangover.

Also, try listening to calming music like "Liquid Mind", and do progressive relaxation. Start at your head and try to gently relax your body until you get to your toes. Repeat this relaxation exercise until you are completely relaxed. Your shoulders and chest will probably tighten back up after being relaxed, so gently go back and relax them, etc.

Works for me. Good luck : )

Reference taking the Trazodone, It is a "light" sleepiness. You can still wake up on it, it just helps the sleep process. I get up in the middle of the night and pee. While on it I can go back to sleep, or stay up if I wanted, but I like sleep!

It is one of the few sleep meds that doesn't disrupt your sleep patterns. Valium or other barbiturate/ benzodiazepines will disrupt your sleep pattern. You will sleep on those meds, but not restfully. Maybe you could talk to your primary care doc and come up with another idea? Or try taking a low dose and cut it in half? Do you have anyone that could stay overnight with you and your little one, so you could test how it works on you?

I realize it might sound like I'm pushing meds on you. I don't intend to do that, but I know how terrible insomnia can be. Just trying to help you find an answer. Good luck : )

The same has been happening for me for over an year now. Finding it so hard to drift off to sleep and when I do I'm up within an hour or so. I think it because im constantly in deep thoughts and very anxious. I have been taking my mums zopiclone (know it's not a good idea) but need to get treatment. What will I say to my gp, I feel like he thinks I'm crazy-constantly going back and forth to him. Thanks in advance xx

I was taking Clonazepan (med p.) but didn't work. I sleep late and the next day I just can't bring myself to wake up.

My family think that I'm lazy.

I had been taking zoplicone and suddenly it stop working I mean instead of sleeping it does the opposite keeps me wide awake. i lost my appetite and about 4 night zero sleep the part o my head next to my neck feels burning and pulsations, I do not know what to do I went to the hospital but they do not treat it as an emergency though they gave me a psychiatrist who prescribe meds for depression and trazedone it did not help at all, it made me sweat buckets I do not know what to do, sometimes I feel like my brain is gone collapse.
