Happy New Year to everyone here. I hope you all had a good festive season; hopefully it was not quite as "locked down" for you as it was last year.
I want to thank all of you who have posted or sent me messages on AMN Easier. I do read every post, in case the odd one might be harmful or misleading. We must be very fortunate because that hasn't happened for some years.
Like most posting forums, we have a small number of folk who contribute quite often, or who comment and give advice to people newly diagnosed. These comments are especially useful, and remind me again and again that our collective knowledge and understanding of AMN far exceeds what any single one of us has.
So, let's hope for better things in 2022. I say that every year, I know. But when we are feeling down about AMN, let’s not forget that we are living in a truly unique world for scientific discovery and - especially for us - in genetics
For what it’s worth, I came across a company called Syncona today. It’s a UK-based company that invests in other companies. It has a current portfolio of 12 companies, and one of those - I was pleased to see - was SwanBio. Many of you US-based folk with AMN know this company, and in particular, one of its founders, Dr Florian Eichler.
It’s worth browsing the Syncona web site and also of course the SwanBio site. I believe that it is through innovative companies like those mentioned on the Syncona site that treatments and cures for AMN will emerge.
All the best for 2022.
