Has anyone else been changed from Lyrica to a generic pregablin medication. I was changed to Lecaent and I have had a teribble week with not being able to sleep, and my leg jerks returned. I have just been to my GP and she has put me back on Lyrica. Looking forward to a good nights sleep now.
Lyrica changed to a generic pregablin. - AMN EASIER
Lyrica changed to a generic pregablin.
Shouldn't matter, should it?
Though, my friend takes Keppra for epilepsy, his doc switched him to a generic. Complains it isn't as good, feels "different".
I have taken Pfizer Lyrica and super-cheap Indian generic Pregeb.
Both stopped my spasms. The spasms don't lie.
All that said, I'd always go with the branded version, given the choice.
No it shouldn't matter although I have seen the odd post on websites saying they had had problems after being swapped. But I gave it a week and didn't have any leg problems last night so let's hoping.
Have a read of this.

Here is a cut/paste...
Some groups have raised questions about the FDA requirements for proving a generic drug acts in the same way as the brand-name drug.
To prove a generic drug works the same way as a brand-name drug, the manufacturer needs to show there’s no significant difference in the rate and extent to which the drugs are absorbed into the body.
Scientists perform tests to measure this difference and describe the results in the form of a percentage. Most scientists agree that a 20% difference in the way a drug is absorbed is acceptable.
Some groups, though, claim that percentage is too large and could cause problems based on how much of the drug is in a person's system at any one time.
But, then again, it also says......
The FDA has conducted two large studies to learn the actual variation in absorption between brand-name drugs and their generic versions. The studies show that the average variation is 3.5%
Thanks monkey bus. I had a good nights sleep last night on Lyrica.
Hi Cherie, read what you said about your bad nights on generic Pregablin so decided to ask my GP about going back to Lyrica as I haven't had a decent night for over a month. He was very good about it and said if it wasn't working being on generic then it was worth going back to Lyrica. Really pleased, and hoping to have some better nights, with sleep!
Hi Hillary. That is really interesting. I wonder what it is that is different. I am glad you managed to change back and hope it doesn't take too long to catch up on your sleep.
